Coveresque feat. Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater (US vs. UK vs. German)

Today I only do another coveresque post, because my day was just so packed with other non-blogger stuff... good and fun non-blogger stuff, my "step" uncle got married:) I am going to post my review of Dash &Lily's Book of Dares by Rachel Cohn & David Levithan tomorrow!

Tell me, which Shiver cover do you like best?

  1. I like the middle one from the UK the most but I think the one on the left fits the YA genre better.

  2. German one. Sorry I love this series but I am often spotted ranting about not liking the covers LOL :D

  3. I like the German cover best. It's really pretty, and I'm kind of annoyed with all the black covers lately... But I like the US cover as well. :D

  6. I like them all! But I think I prefer the US and the German ones. I'm not crazy about the UK version (it reminds me too much of Twilight, I guess).

  7. My favorite is the US cover. It's the most visually appealing to me, but I also think it fits the story the best. The blue and white make me think of winter, snow, and cold. I also really like how the wolf is almost hidden so you don't notice it at first (at least I didn't!).

The UK cover's colors are kind of harsh and I think it makes the story look a lot darker and more dangerous than it is. I would probably think it was a bloody horror story if I didn't already know what it was about.

The German cover is nice and I think it fits their relationship well, but it isn't as evocative or "wintry" as the US cover. It looks too springtime happy, which doesn't fit the story much.

  8. I love the US cover. I especially like how the three (Shiver, Linger & Forever) look side by side by side. Just gorgeous.

  9. I'm somewhere between the German and the US cover. I've always liked the US cover and I think that it fits with the storyline, but at the same time I can't help but love the German cover as I feel that it also fits well.

  10. I like the blue one the best. Because it looks less stark then the black one. It's simple which I appreciate.

  11. I like the US - in blue and white. We have that edition here. I also like Linger - but I do not like the cover of Foever. I think all the red looks tacky - although have heard everyone else say they love it!

  12. I definitely like the US better. It's a change to have a light colored cover in the ya genre. (:
