Coveresque feat. Die For Me by Amy Plum (US/UK vs. Norwegian vs. German)


Welcome to this year's first Coveresque post in which I compare three book covers. Above you see the US cover for DIE FOR ME. The original cover was blue and showed Kate in boat. It wasn't bad, but I was really happy when I heard that they were using the UK cover for the US edition, too. Doesn't this cover have flair? The colours and the artwork are great! All three covers show the Eiffel Tower since the story takes place in wonderful Paris. The Norwegian edition is a bit darker and the German presents itself in a green, red and white fairy tale look. I guess the Norwegian title says " Watch over me". Any Norwegians here? And the German title says "Enchanted by the Night". Tell me which one is your favourite? I can't really choose between those beautiful covers. I love them all!

    I think I prefer the uk one. The Norwegian one does have lovely deep colours, for me the German is a bit too fairy tale for my liking.

    This is one of the rare instances in which I love the US cover more than international ones.

    I'll really need some time to get used to the German cover although I like that it's "different". I really love the US/UK cover (definitely my favorite), but the Norwegian cover is really pretty, too.

    Yes, the Norwegian title says 'Watch Over Me'. I'm not Norgwegian (actually Swedish) but the languages are very similar. For me it's a tie between the US/UK and the Norwegian cover. The German cover gives me a feeling of a different genre.

    I love the Norwegian cover but my favorite would have to be the US version. Im not a huge fan of the German cover. Looks too fairy tale to me.

    I LOVE the German cover (but, I'm a great fan of Art Nouveau, and it's SO Paris to me).... but, I still adore the red US/UK version the most... I think!

    I love all the covers for this one! I'm leaning towards the Norwegian cover here, although that may be because it's pretty new to me. I'm so used to seeing the UK cover. It's still pretty special, all the same! :) I'm a big fan of the original 'Kate in boat' cover too!

    I like the UK one best, definitely (I agree - it's much better than the original US one)! The middle one's OK - I might pick it up if I saw it in a bookstore... I don't really like the green one though - it looks too much like fantasy, and as much as I'd like to be I'm not a fantasy fan! ;)

    I love the fact that all of them have the Eiffel tower on them. They are all beautiful in their own way, but the UK version is my favourite. I love the illustrations that Johanna Basford contributed. I have artwork by her and would love to get more.
